Now, in this case the domus<\/em> must be understood as two distinct layers: the first is the house understood as the literal home of all humans, and the second, the anthroposphere (10.1<\/a>) that covers the totality of human interactions, both physical and conceptual, and could be defined as the human domain<\/em> (0.24<\/a>). This new digital threshold is in part a legacy of the threshold created by traditional media which\u2014while considerably reducing the distance between sender and receiver\u2014remain media, that is, intermediaries<\/em> between these two poles (9.2<\/a>). On the other hand, digital media definitively actualize the threshold character of the previous generation of communication technologies, thus creating a zone of indistinction in which we all become senders and receivers simultaneously.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Seen from an economic point of view, this a-directionality of digital media, in which we are simultaneously producers (senders) and consumers (receivers) of information, adds yet another layer to the problem: in the digital era the market cycle closes in on us and we become, within the same economy, both raw material and product (10.3<\/a>); alpha and omega. A new form of liminal alterity<\/em> that covers the two poles of capitalist production. It is this blurry alterity\u2014which brings us dangerously close to a non-human zoe\u0304<\/em>\u2014what sustains the virtual paradeisos<\/em> created by surveillance capitalism, a threshold-hunting park that encompasses the totality of the digital world and its intersections with its physical counterpart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n In functional terms, the emergence of this new alterity was the result of opening the behavioral value reinvestment value (10.3<\/a>) to a new actor, the advertiser, and once included, closing the loop again, nullifying the reciprocal flow between the user and the search engine, in the case of Google. This issue becomes even clearer in domotics, which by introducing a third actor between the user and a home automation product\u2014be it an advertiser or a company that captures\/processes\/resells the information\u2014shattered this discipline\u2019s original claim of a closed loop that would only benefit the inhabitants of the house (10.2<\/a>). From then on, the human home was rendered defenseless to the incursions of any entity with the means to access this information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Backtracking, if with telemetry the natural world became a scientific hunting and tracking ground (10.1<\/a>), telemetry applied to the home, i.e., domotics, turned the human domus<\/em> and domain<\/em> into a data hunting park.
